Norman Parents as Teachers
The Norman Parents As Teacher (NPAT) program is a free, evidenced-based home visiting program.
Who We Serve: We work with families who are prenatal or have children up to the age of 6 within the Norman Public Schools (NPS) district or attend Norman Public School.
What We Do: Enrolled families receive monthly or bimonthly visits with a certified Parent Educator, monthly parent group meetings, and the opportunity to attend a weekly playtime for both parents and children.
Our personalized visits are the heart of the program and are tailored to each family’s individual needs. During visits, we track developmental milestones, provide screenings, engage parents and children in activities that promote brain growth and development, and explore a variety of parenting topics, from nutrition to discipline. We also focus on the overall well-being of the family and discuss topics such as education, relationships, recreation, and mental/physical health.
Personalized visits may also take place at the Center For Arts & Learning (CAL). NPAT works closely with community partners and makes referrals to additional resources and services as needed.
