Norman High School and Norman North High School students have been selected as the only participants in Oklahoma for a national culinary contest called the “Top Secret Taste Test,” sponsored by Sodexo.
Students will create an original pizza recipe using a standard crust, and the top-rated entries will be taste-tested by students nationwide. The twist: the identities of the student chefs and their school locations will remain secret until a national reveal in January.
“This competition gives our students a chance to showcase their creativity on a national stage,” Director of Child Nutrition Kim Putman said. “We’re incredibly proud that Norman Public Schools was chosen as the sole district to represent Oklahoma.”
Participants have the chance to win exciting prizes, and the national winner will take home a Meta Quest 3 Virtual Reality Console. Additionally, the winning pizza could be featured on Sodexo’s national K–12 menu for schools across America. Students have until November 5, 2025, to submit their pizza recipes. Taste testing will begin a week later on November 14, and national winners will be announced in January 2026.
It’s an interactive, mysterious and delicious way for students to have a real voice in what ends up on their school lunch menu.
