Pre-Kindergarten
Norman Public Schools values early learning opportunities and is proud to offer Pre-K at every elementary site. NPS Pre-K programs foster all areas of development including intellectual, social, emotional, language, and physical within an active, engaging environment. Purposeful play and hands-on materials are used to stimulate exploration and inquiry. The structure and routine experienced in Pre-K helps students develop school behaviors that support a positive and successful transition to Kindergarten. School behaviors developed in Pre-K include learning to work with others, listening as others speak, making choices, problem-solving, taking turns, and building peer relationships.
Students must be (4) four on or before September 1, 2024. Requirements for enrolling are (2) two proofs of residency, a copy of an official birth certificate and current immunization records. Parents who have already enrolled their 4-year-old in Pre-K must still confirm the student's enrollment prior to the school year. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer transportation for Pre-Kindergarten students.
